JOL Postponed

Jawn on the Lawn Postponed until 2024


After much consideration, I come to the decision that it is in our best interest to postpone JOL until 2024


Reasons being


  • May 13th is less than 3 months away.

  • It's extremely close to the date to pay deposits and hire vendors

    • (Pricing for tents, chairs, and tables is almost double what it cost last year.)

  • We're just now getting volunteers.

  • It's better to have this in June or July, weather-wise, attendance-wise, and vendor-wise.

  • We have other responsibilities that take precedence

Moving forward

  • Send out a poll to the Alumni asking if they prefer yearly or every other year for Jawn on the Lawn.

  • We should continue to build a Jawn On The Lawn Committee and have the committee continue planning.

  • We're now in a position to have this event sponsored, JOL committee can seek out sponsorship

  • JOL Committee should also research other potential venue options. (better parking, handicap accessibility, and fewer insurance and school district requirements) We prefer to stay at the school BUT, scheduling and cost are very challenging.
